Almost Home Animal Rescue League is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to finding loving forever homes for homeless animals. We are strongly against the senseless act of euthanasia of adoptable animals and are continuously striving to make euthanasia a thing of the past. We are made up of a group of dedicated volunteers, without them, Almost Home Animal Rescue League would not exist.

A NEW SHELTER!!
Have you heard our exciting news? Almost Home now officially has our very own home. We finally have a shelter, YIPPEE!
Our new home is the ALMOST HOME ANIMAL HAVEN OF SOUTHFIELD and is located at 25503 Clara Lane in Southfield, Michigan (we're in the old Southfield Animal Control building). We are currently open for adoptions at the shelter on Wednesdays from 3:30 - 7:30 in addition to every Saturday from 1:30 - 5:30, and of course we still have our traditional adoption event every
other Saturday from 1:30 - 5:30 at Premier Pet Supply located at 31215 Southfield Rd. in Beverly Hills, Michigan. Upcoming 2008 Saturday Premier Pet Supply adoption events are scheduled Saturdays August 16th & 30th as well as September 6th & 20th. (Go to our website for complete maps and directions). If you are interested in one of our adoptable animals, please fill out and submit your online application and bring a copy with you to one of the Wednesday or Saturday adoption events.
WE NEED VOLUNTEERS!! You'll probably be surprised to know that we are a 100% volunteer based organization with no paid employees and we are a true no-kill facility. We're always looking for mature, responsible, self-motivated individuals to help out. Our new shelter has created a significant need for help in the daily care of our homeless animals. We are in the process of scheduling Shelter Volunteer Training Sessions and need people that can commit to various shifts of feeding, walking and socializing the animals. We want our animals to be smothered with love and attention with us until we can find them all a new mommy and/ or daddy to take over.
TO BECOME PART OF OUR SHELTER VOLUNTEER TEAM you will need to:
LOVE ANIMALS
BE 18 YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER
COMPLETE A VOLUNTEER APPLICATION AND WAIVER
ATTEND A VOLUNTEER INFORMATION / TRAINING SESSION
BE ABLE TO MAINTAIN AN OVERALL COMMITMENT OF A MINIMUM OF 8 HOURS PER MONTH.
If working with the animals at the shelter isn't your interest, we certainly have many other volunteer needs in the areas of TRANSPORTATION, ADOPTION EVENTS, FUNDRAISING, FOSTERING, MARKETING, PHOTOGRAPHY, GENERAL CLEANING AND ORGANIZING etc. Go to our website and fill out an online volunteer application. THERE ARE SO MANY THINGS THAT NEED BE DONE AT THE SHELTER THE ANIMALS WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE YOUR KINDNESS.
